The Story Room is a woman-owned, family-ran indie bookstore in the village of Elida, Ohio, just outside of Lima. We sell new books for all ages as well as a selection of used titles and other bookish merchandise. 

Books We Carry

We carry a selection of new books in a wide range of genres including Historical Fiction, Romance, Fantasy, Young Adult, Children’s, Middle Grade, Romantasy, Sci-fi, Thriller, Mystery, General, Classics, and more.

You can browse a partial selection of our in-store inventory here while we have *many* more titles available in-store. Plus, next to our sitting area (where you’re more than welcome to sit and browse or sip your coffee from our next door neighbors, Reservation Alley), we have a growing selection of used books, with most ranging in price from $1 to $10.

Special Events

Our store hosts Story Time on the 4th Saturday of the month and is a strong proponent of independent/self-published authors. At last count, we had over 60 unique titles from indie authors in-store with plans to grow that in the coming months.

About The Story Room

We love reading. It’s this passion that fuels us and we have big ideas for the future. We’re starting with author signing events — hopefully, one per quarter. Our store partners with Libro.FM for audiobooks and Bookshop.org for ebooks/titles we don’t have in stock.

And of course, we’re always happy to order for you. Special orders take about a week to arrive, depending on availability.
